POSTION PURPOSE:

96.5 KOIT is seeking a part-time producer. You'll work beside our mornings show, Program Director and On-Air Talent to generate content synergy between programming, promotions and digital. Candidates must be able to relate to the 96.5 KOIT lifestyle (parenting, pets, cooking, bay area lifestyle, etc.). Applicants must be able to write engaging content for blogs, produce creative videos, event recap videos and develop graphics. It's essential that you have strong communications skills and understand that our content and digital presence is a key part of our mission to provide leadership that builds up, connects, informs and celebrates Bay Area communities and families. To be considered, please include a link to recent video work, writing and graphic production.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with on-air talent to locate compelling on-air content
  • Creative daily blogging and scheduling social media using station strategy
  • MUST have great video editing and filming/photography skills
  • Be well-connected with the broader social media world and actively participate in social networking websites
  • Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities and determine benefits of applying tools to appropriate areas
  • Regularly monitor social media tools, trends and applications and activity
  • Personal growth and development
  • Other duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 

  • College degree in journalism, communications, related field, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Premier or Final Cut video editing platforms and Adobe Photoshop
  • 3-5 years of experience using social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
  • An understanding and appreciation for journalism ethics and writing, audience and marketplace
  • The ability to motivate and teach staff
  • Deep understanding of social media techniques and tools and the ability to research and implement new practices
  • Experience with open source publishing tools, including WordPress and other content management systems
  • Superior written and oral communications skills are essential, along with the ability to juggle multiple tasks on deadline
  • Excellent use of judgement and discretion

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively
  • Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
  • Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
